World's largest Con-RO

22nd Jun 2015

On 22 June 2015 m/v Jolly Palladio, the fourth and last in a row of four ro-ro container vessels, has been delivered to the Italian shipping company Ignazio Messina & C. by the South Korean yard STX Offshore & Shipbuilding in Jinhae, thus completing the building project of the owners' claimed world's biggest con-RO vessels ever built to date.

Construction and delivery of all vessels have been carried out under the supervision of a SeaQuest site team, formed by multinational expert inspectors, which also included a few owners’ provided elements.

These vessels are the second stage of a new building plan that the Genoa-based shipping company has undertaken with Korean yards: the previous four vessels had been built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. and delivered between end 2012 and beginning 2014, again under the supervision of SeaQuest.

The STX built vessels are 240 metres long by 37,50 wide; with a 3.900 TEU and 6.350 metres of ro-ro cargo capacity, 21.5 knots speed and equipped with high-tech anti-pollution system such as an innovative gas cleaning system able to operate both in navigation and in port.
